About this tool

Pick a barcode type, type the number or text it should hold, and your barcode appears straight away. It covers the common retail codes (EAN-13, UPC-A), warehouse and logistics codes (Code 128, ITF-14, GS1-128), and 2D codes (QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec) used on tickets, parts and IDs.

Everything is drawn on your device, so the numbers you type are never sent anywhere. Download the result as a sharp PNG for documents, or an SVG that stays crisp at any print size.

Frequently asked questions

Which barcode type should I use?

For retail products, use EAN-13 (most countries) or UPC-A (United States). For warehouse labels, Code 128 or Code 39 are common. For a link or a large amount of text, use a QR Code.

Why does my barcode show a different number than I typed?

EAN-13 and UPC-A add or check a final digit automatically to make the code valid. If you type 12 digits for EAN-13, a 13th check digit is added for you.

Can I make a barcode for a product I sell?

Yes, but EAN and UPC numbers used for real retail sale must be properly registered with GS1. This tool draws the barcode image; it does not issue official numbers.

Is there a tool to print many barcodes on labels at once?

Yes, use the Label Maker, which lays out barcodes (and text) on label sheets and can fill them from a spreadsheet.
